It is a place from where happiness and all the best enters the home, ” says Mumbai-based Vastu consultant, Nitien Parmar. “Consequently, the key access has recently been accorded prime importance, as it lets in or keeps your cosmic energy flow that promotes health, wealth and harmony. In addition, the key door also creates the first impression of any house, ” he highlights.
Direction of the key door
“The main door should be in the north, north-east, east, or western world, because they are considered auspicious. Avoid having the key door in the southerly, south-west, north-west (north side), or south-east (east side) directions. A door in the south or southern, can be corrected by by using a lead metal pyramid and lead helix. A door in the north-west can be corrected, with a brass pyramid and a brass helix, while a door in the south-east direction can be corrected, by by using a copper mineral helix, ” suggests Parmar.
The main door should be bigger than some other door in the house and should open up in a clockwise manner. Avoid having three doorways in a line, similar to the key door, since this is considered as a serious Vastu defect and can affect the happiness in the home.

Elements used for the key door:
A wooden door is considered most auspicious for the key entrance.
South path: the door should have a combo of wood and metal.
West: should have metal work.
Northern door: should have really silver precious metal colour.
East: should be made of wood and adorned with limited material accessories.
Decorating the area around the key door
A clean house, especially the key entrance, attracts positive energy. Tend not to keep dustbins, cracked chairs or stools, near to the main door, cautions Kajaal Rohira, a holistic healer from Mumbai.
